Liam and Sarah, co-founders, in the early days of exploring the Yukon's unique desert landscapes.

Yukon Desert Expeditions Inc. began in 2008 not in a boardroom, but amidst the vast, stark beauty of the Carcross Desert. Co-founders Liam O'Connell, a seasoned wilderness guide with a passion for off-grid survival, and Dr. Sarah Jenkins, an environmental scientist with deep roots in local ecology, shared a singular vision: to responsibly share the Yukon's extraordinary landscapes with the world.

What started as humble guided ATV tours and basic logistical support for researchers quickly evolved. Their intimate knowledge of the terrain, coupled with an unwavering commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, attracted a diverse clientele. From small guided trips, YDE grew to offer comprehensive expedition planning, specialized vehicle maintenance, and even remote camp setups for film crews. Every step of our growth has been organic, fueled by a genuine love for the North and a desire to foster respectful, authentic experiences.
